Meal Planning Monday

Last week meal plans went well. The roasted veg with Camembert was gorgeous and I highly recommend. I will blog the recipe later on. On Saturday night curry I made a really yummy side dish with left over new potatoes from Friday and some spinach and mushrooms I had left over in the fridge. We added poppadoms, tomato and onion salad and chutney’s so it really felt like a proper Indian meal!!! I had to swap lamb, veg tray bake for an all in one chicken roast on Sunday as I am trying out a Mermaid roasting tin that has been sent to me.

Other than that I really am liking planning my meals and I am sure it will save me money too. As well as the bonus of not having that stressful ‘What we having for dinner tonight thing!!!’ All meals are planned so the whole family eat them so sometimes I feel my weekly menu is maybe a bit restricted but beats making lots of different meals :-)

So here is what we will be eating this week. Sunday I am leaving free as Oscar will choose this, as he is going on his first ever residential away for four nights*sob*.

Monday: Left over chicken and vegetable pie with broccoli

Tuesday: Quorn spaghetti bolognese ( I will have gluten-free pasta and a tomato and herb sauce)

Wednesday: Spicy sausage casserole and jacket potato

Thursday: Quiche ( I will make it gluten free using this recipe and swap nettles for spinach) new potatoes and salad

Friday: Vegetable chilli and rice

Saturday: Lamb and vegetable tray bake and minted pea’s.

Sunday: Oscar’s choice!!!

I have linked up with At Home with Mrs M on her Meal Planning Monday. Pop over there to see what everyone else is planning for this week.

Thanks Paula :-) It is always hard to think of things that I know the whole family will love!!! Thanks for stopping by :-)

  2. I think I would swap nettles for spinach too! Enjoy – it all sounds lovely :)

    1. Ali says:

Ha ha, actually in all honesty when I did it with nettles last year it was yummy :-) It was the going out with bright yellow rubber gloves and picking nettles that I opted for the spinach!!! Thanks for stopping by :-)

Your meal plan looks and sounds wonderful!

Thank you, sometimes I look and think maybe it is a bit boring. Just finished the chicken pie which was really yummy, though being gluten free I had mine without the pastry but that left some over for Jam tarts so I was popular tonight!!!

  4. Stinging nettles? I’ve got a garden full of them lol *wonders if Asda would buy my ‘crop’ off me…

    1. Ali says:

:-) You could be on to something there!!! Honest they are quite nice, so now you have got the recipe I will look out for it on your menu!!!

  5. Emma says:

Love the sound of the spicy sausage casserole. I often cook gf food (my Mum is coeliac) so would love to hear how the quiche works out.

    1. Ali says:

I have made quiche with the potato pastry a few times. It seems to work really well and the rest of my family like it too!!! Worth giving it a go it nice being gluten free to having pastry once in a while!!!

  6. So happy the camembert tray bake was a hit, I can’t wait to try it. Another lovely menu this week, I am inspired by your traybakes. x

    1. Ali says:

Ahhh thank you. Tray bakes are just a yummy mix of food popped in the oven and super easy which I like :-) Thanks for popping by x
