Juggling

When I was a child I always tried to juggle but usually always failed. In fact up until today I have only every managed two balls in one go!!! Heather my sister I can remember juggling with three oranges, of course I wanted to do such a thing but remember trying and well not succeeding. There were probably sulks but my rose-tinted specs don’t  remember that ;-)

Today I can impress Bex and Oz by juggling really well with two balls. I can go super fast and carry on for a long time. Accept of course it not really juggling at all, after all it’s only two things!

Whilst waffling here and seeing oranges flying in the air of yesteryear my main current problem is juggling all that needs to be done. As I first write this I am notebook and pen in hand in bed. Obviously when you get to read this it will be all typed out for you :-) no doubt in the morning!

Everyone else is still up, so I sneaked up as it is the school holiday’s this could be the only moment head space break I get to think and at least half way do! So I am jotting this down now, I then have a folder of papers to sort through and gain some order too and I really want to get finished on my ‘Shiny Shiny – How to stop being a social media magpie’ by Karen Skidmore. A most read for anyone with a business, really great information and digestible (big plus for me!). So anyway my usual ‘chic flic’s’ books I love (No, 50 Shades of Grey here!) have been swapped for business type books. I know not terrible relaxing and the likely hood is I will fall asleep with a book on my face (Romantic I know, maybe do need 50 shades…) but it means there is one less thing to juggle tomorrow.

As I write this I am going to take myself to the start of the post and there it seems I will find my answer. A reminder I am good a juggling two things in fact very good (dare I say it!) but throw in anymore more it turns into a complete disaster where I can’t even seem to catch one!!!

I didn’t intend to write about any sort of juggling, I got into bed this title came up in my head and ta da I have solved a problem for myself. I love these kind of posts, you can’t beat a bit of self sorting out can you? :-)

Now typed up I can tell you – The papers remained in the folder unsorted! I did read about 10 pages of ‘Shiny Shiny’ then I got busted by Oz and had a strange and bizarre conversation about imagining if there were jumping snails. A conversation you would only expect from Oz!!! Then after saying goodnight I tried to read some more before my eyelids got the better of me. Today I will choose which two balls to juggle and no more.

Lesson learnt here for me -  If you add to much stuff  you might end up dropping it all, less in most defiantly more!!!

  1. Love this! Reminds me of the video I made about fifty things versus five: http://grace-marshall.com/busy-being-busy/ Whether it’s five things or two things or even one thing. When you go with your strengths, what YOU do really well, it’s amazing how much more effective you are and enjoyable it is. Nice one Ali :)

Thanks Grace :-) and your totally right re strengths. Had a total re-think after we had our call back in April. Despite me being totally disorganised on that call, loud and clear was the message what I enjoyed most, was sharing information and helping other people so watch this space! :-)

aaah, I’m DYING to read that book! Is it good? I’m juggling too my friend… YAAWWWNNN…. xx

    1. Ali says:

Hopefully not dropping as many balls as me ;-) Highly recommend the book, makes lots of sense, easy to read and lots of common sense. Have lots of ‘post it’s’ stuck in with my favourite bits!!! One to read especially as the coggs in my brain are reminding me you work in that sort of thing so I would say a good investment for you x x x

  3. Jane says:

Always play to your strengths xxx

    1. Ali says:
