December 1st

I can not believe it is December the 1st, how did that happen? Only a few bits of shopping have been bought so the anxiety level now December is here may go up slightly. Though I am sure our parents shopped much later didn’t they? I can remember going to Bristol Christmas shopping, I must have been about 8 or 9 at a guess. Bristol seemed so much bigger than Bath where we lived, which of course it is. I remember the bright Christmas lights and being in a department store, at a guess it must have been Debenhams. There was food gifts there, I remember picking a box of crystallised fruit for my Mum. They were huge gorgeous beautiful pieces which they should have been as they had a big price tag on them.

I remember looking at the toys all hopeful and a feeling of Christmas magic. We picked up one of those pretzel packs that seem total luxury and special then, the ones we take for granted today. I can remember going home and the tree was up so it must have been a week before Christmas. We had a mild frost the other day and I joked on twitter that my brain would now be able to think of Christmas because it is below a certain temperature!!! So today the 1st of December it was nice to wake up to a proper frost, the sun shined through the mist over the river and I wished I was better and taking photo’s but well there is my 1st December frost pictures and advent calendars. Oscar’s opened, as Bex being a teenager is still in slumber land!!!

Which reminds me Oscar brought me a cup of tea in bed this morning, how nice is that?

Well the sun is now shining, the frost is all but thawed and I guess at the very list need to start making a Christmas shopping list!!!
