5 Simple changes
A change is good as a rest and all that stuff!!! Actually when I hear that saying I usually hear it in a really annoying voice, I don’t know why.
Anyway here are 5 simple changes I am going to make, to make life easy for me!
Number 1: Keep my tidy desk.
Firstly as I typed this I had to put several bits of paper away, my kindle charger in a draw and a pen in my ‘new’ pen pot!!! ordinarily I let the paper pile up, the pens and pencils scatter and generally feel a bit stressed whilst working at my desk. Now typing this I am relaxed and happy!!! Convinced? Check on my desk status next week!!!

Number 2: Unload the dishwasher in the evening.
No, I am not telling you to do this. But for me from years and years of unloading yesterday’s dishes and washing the remainder of yesterdays stuff the next day, well…
I have done the evening unload since New Year. It’s a lot nicer starting the day fresh and not dealing with yesterday mess the following morning. Yes we are just talking dishes and kitchen stuff but it has made a difference to my morning.

Number 3: The odd sock bag.
We could spend days trying to work out what happens to ‘the other one’ but here and no doubt in your house too, the sock anomaly exists. So hanging up on a door is now an odd sock bag. Simply fill with odd socks over the week and marry up at the weekend. Those that don’t marry up, either keep in there for a month or send to the sock monkey/puppet bag, turn into a ‘put your hand in duster’ or send to the sock grave yard!!! Alternatively just where odd socks!

Number 4: The cereal keeper
I picked up two lovely cereal keepers for the bargain price of £1.49 each at Dunelm my first ever visit. These will go with my slightly (a lot) posher other one. Now they will be know more excuses of stale cereal, no more cereal waste (bad luck dogs) and actually a tidyer cupboard (dreaming!).

Number 5: A diary
Last year I did try to put some organisation into a diary. This year (as of today) I will have three diaries in my life. One just isn’t enough!!! One for family and home and yes will try to meal plan too! Two for work and courses I am doing and finally three for Me and here really.
I know your be shouting keep it all in one diary and yes your probably right but I have actually got three so, you know might as well use them.

So that is the five simple changes I am making in my life to make it easier (kind of!). Let me know any simple changes you have made too.

Ali – all great ideas, a few I could follow, like I could get my desk set up (after starting the process in November) and then keep it tidy! One of my simple ones for the new year is to use up all my gift set cosmetics. I have stacks of lovely things sat in a drawer forgotten about, using them will save money. I’m making an effort to use body lotion most days which helps me like my body and encourages me to continue my healthy eating!
Good idea, we all seem to have that hoarding instinct when it comes to keeping nice bits and pieces. I have to confess I treat my face well (you have to at my age!) but do neglect my body, even though I have body lotions galore!!! Will put a pot out now for later!!! x
Great ideas! Exactly what happens to all those missing socks?! I am trying to find out! We have a new rule in our house that not only are socks not turned inside out before they go in the washing basket (arrrgh!), but to pair them up before you put them in too. This way they at least get washed together and if ones missing afterwards you can be pretty sure the washing machine ate it!
Oh I need more tips from you on training my children to have such good washing baskets habits
The world over there are a lot of hungry washing machines. Or with my missing sock numbers perhap quite full up!!!
Those are great small changes which should make a big impact
Yes they really make a difference, now to keep up with them x
Love the Cereal Keepers! How about spice keepers as well? Tackle one cupboard at a time!! Love ya Big Sis xx
*Looks in spice cupboard, mmm not bad! Pop around and check if you like
Love from your little Sister (!)
I’m laughing at the odd sock thing……..that drives me nuts in my house so I’m glad it’s not just me!! Love the cereal keepers too
Yes the question is where do the ‘other ones’ go!!! Cereal keepers are fab and highly recommend
