The weeks Grrr’s, Smiles and Mmm’s

A good week has been had by all really. Always blissful when the children are on their school holidays, well most of the time.

So lets start with the Grr’s:

While visiting a European market selling lots of yummy stuff, the children were drawn (of course) to a stall selling German pick and mix sweets. They looked like any ordinary British sweets to me but three times the price, then spotting a label showing I was indeed proved right (it happens all the time!) made and distributed in Hertfordshire U.K umm sorry !!!

Why do I still always feel sick when riding a bike down hill, it is the same feeling as when I was younger when you rode a horse over a jump, shudder !

Having to stand up on the train and again on the return journey.

On the way home on the train a girl (18ish) was looking out the window saying why are there so many empty fields, why don’t they just build houses all on them all. Umm because Britain would look pretty horrid if it was covered in just house for starters !!!

When will I learn to use a real tape measure and not the one in my mind. 600mm = 60c.m = x2 big rulers, yes that package destined for New Zealand look no bigger than two rulers. Oopps slightly under a centimetre to big I am told at the Post Office. Then desperately re-wrapping to make it smaller while queue is building behind me. I did try and step to the side to to do this honest but the Post Office Lady kept saying “I am still serving this Lady please wait!”. Sorry anyone who was behind me!

Ahhh’s of the week.

Getting off the train

My daughter shouting “Mum I love you” in the middle of a bike ride in public !!!

My son and daughter having sleepovers in each others room all holiday.

My son’s brilliant email to Lego suggesting a new game to them. It was fab and so well set out bless him.

Again here the laughter of my two together, I can hear it right now so had to add it.

Mmm’s of the week:

Picking, cooking and eating wild garlic for the first time ever. Very yummy highly recommend if you like garlic that is. Just saute in a little butter for approx 3 minutes season with a little pepper and salt if liked, then enjoy.

Waking up to a gorgeous sunny Sunday.

Realising how many lovely people you meet online :)

Knowing I am going to a Herb festival later today and get lots of herby idea’s and some yummy tasters and some gorgeous local honey.

Hope you all have a good Sunday x
