Organising life

Organising life

Being organised is one of those things I like to try to do but mostly fail at. Or perhaps I am more organised than I think I am, but have labelled myself as the ‘ditty’ one so often find myself fulfilling that role! I love to write lists but the disorganised part of me wins as I have *looks around at my desk which I might add is very tidy at the moment foe me, well … Read entire article »

Meal planning in reverse with a flexible twist.

Meal planning in reverse with a flexible twist.

Meal planning is something you are either in the mood for or not! You go through your cupboards, fridge and Freezer, then sit down and decide what you want to eat for the next week or so. Sometimes this is all good, and you can whizz out your 7 meals in minutes. Other times you look blankly at the piece of paper in front of you with very little inspiration let alone enough to see you … Read entire article »

The home and meal planning for the week.

The home and meal planning for the week.

Last week I did my meal plan and few jobs extra on top of my usual load and work off course than needing doing. So how did I get? Well I have to say having the meals chalked up in the kitchen means one the kids knew what they were eating, two I completely stuck to it and three it did save money. Generally when I do a meal plan I do stray a bit. … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

Back after a couple of weeks of non-planning. Still not having t new fridge/freezer means we are still shopping more often. This means A. I am bored of shopping and B. Being a bit of a squirrel by nature (I love a full fridge, freezer and store cupboards) the whole not having a bigger fridge/freezer is a … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

I have not felt like meal planning as such the last few weeks but we have had some nice meals and trying hard to stick to a budget. This weeks plan is based on favourites I know will get eaten up, mostly easy to do. Except the Quiche, which once made always grateful I did make it but sometimes trying to make gluten-free pastry behave itself can be a challenge that has been known to make me cry!!! Popped to our local farm shop yesterday and got some lovely young leeks and gorgeous looking  Russian (but grown here!) Kale so tonight will use some of the leeks and Kale. So my menu this week, though I may well chop and change the days around looks like this: Monday: Chicken and leek casserole … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

Yuk, it is a really wet Monday!!! I have just finished my online shop and yet again the prices have gone up. So glad I have my  meal planning in the hope it saves a bit of money. Though can not get over the price of sugar, can you? Love baking but the sugar prices seem to go up and up. If you like baking it worth a visit to the Co-op as their sugar is a lot cheaper there than both Tesco and Asda. Especially if you are Christmas baking and need brown sugar for stir up Sunday this coming Sunday I do believe. There you go my money-saving tip of the day So our week food wise looks like this and as you can see a few budget … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

Yes I am typing this early on Monday, after rummaging the fridge, freezer and cupboards I did come up with my meal plan nice and early yesterday, only for my laptop to overheat and have a bit of a blip. Rather like us it needed a bit of relaxing time so I let it have an early night hence typing quickly now. I have Oscar’s parent meeting first thing, why do I always choose the early … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

I didn’t sort myself out last week to add our meal plan, rephrase I didn’t do one!!! But this week I have a fridge full, a trip to our local farm shop which is a proper farm shop not one of these with hiked up prices. You can pick up big bunches of parsley for 25p or a huge swede for 40p all good stuff and mostly grown organically so very good place to inspire you for some healthy meals I been trying out a lovely cook pot this week which also is a rather neat pasta pot so to do a review recipe on the Italian theme that it is sold on as we will start the week with pasta which you find the recipe here later this week. … Read entire article »
