Meal Planning Monday

Back after a couple of weeks of non-planning. Still not having t new fridge/freezer means we are still shopping more often. This means A. I am bored of shopping and B. I tend to plan meals around offers I see in store (the variety we have the pleasure of visiting!). Being a bit of a squirrel by nature (I love a full fridge, freezer and store cupboards) the whole not having a bigger fridge/freezer is a … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

Meal planning Monday I missed last week and this week is easy as I only have to cook for 4 days and then we are away for the weekend on a surprise visit. *Does a happy dance* very excited. Now typing this just remembered it is Valentines day on Thursday, ooops do you think homemade burgers are good enough?!!! May have to re-think but we will be eating yummy food over the weekend so think I will get away with it. Light a few candles and of course I will peeping across the table through all the flowers I would have received!!! So on to the menu for 4 days (yay): Monday – Homemade pizza and naked coleslaw Tuesday – Shrove Tuesday so savoury pancakes and curried parsnip soup Wednesday - Broccoli and cream cheese … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

I have not felt like meal planning as such the last few weeks but we have had some nice meals and trying hard to stick to a budget. This weeks plan is based on favourites I know will get eaten up, mostly easy to do. Except the Quiche, which once made always grateful I did make it but sometimes trying to make gluten-free pastry behave itself can be a challenge that has been known to make me cry!!! Popped to our local farm shop yesterday and got some lovely young leeks and gorgeous looking  Russian (but grown here!) Kale so tonight will use some of the leeks and Kale. So my menu this week, though I may well chop and change the days around looks like this: Monday: Chicken and leek casserole … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

Yuk, it is a really wet Monday!!! I have just finished my online shop and yet again the prices have gone up. So glad I have my  meal planning in the hope it saves a bit of money. Though can not get over the price of sugar, can you? Love baking but the sugar prices seem to go up and up. If you like baking it worth a visit to the Co-op as their sugar is a lot cheaper there than both Tesco and Asda. Especially if you are Christmas baking and need brown sugar for stir up Sunday this coming Sunday I do believe. There you go my money-saving tip of the day So our week food wise looks like this and as you can see a few … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

Yes I am typing this early on Monday, after rummaging the fridge, freezer and cupboards I did come up with my meal plan nice and early yesterday, only for my laptop to overheat and have a bit of a blip. Rather like us it needed a bit of relaxing time so I let it have an early night hence typing quickly now. I have Oscar’s parent meeting first thing, why do I always choose the early … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

I didn’t sort myself out last week to add our meal plan, rephrase I didn’t do one!!! But this week I have a fridge full, a trip to our local farm shop which is a proper farm shop not one of these with hiked up prices. You can pick up big bunches of parsley for 25p or a huge swede for 40p all good stuff and mostly grown organically so very good place to inspire you for some healthy meals I been trying out a lovely cook pot this week which also is a rather neat pasta pot so to do a review recipe on the Italian theme that it is sold on as we will start the week with pasta which you find the recipe here later this … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

I have been organised to meal plan this week (personal pat on back) and generally have most of the food in, give or take some salad and fruit. Meal Planning Monday

Meal Planning Monday Yes, I have slacked off ‘Meal Planning Monday’ the last couple of weeks. You know it’s Sunday night and sometimes it just that little bit of a hassle to think what to eat for the week. But I know when I do it makes one less think about for the beginning, middle or end of every day the following week!!! So last week saw back to school, Oscar settled into secondary school like a … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

I am yet again not sure where that week has gone and it’s meal planning Monday again!!! Now the Summer holidays are racing nearer the end and I haven’t even brought the school uniform or any of the new things Oscar will need for secondary school. I have been in a bit of belief that the holidays will keep on going and we might have moved house but they are not going to and there … Read entire article »
