Meal Planning Monday

Meal Planning Monday

So yet another week has gone by the sun came a few times but we are still a little confused whether to have salads or soups. I have decided this week to get the slow cooker out one day as I used to loved using this but really only ever seem to do stew in it. As I type this, the sun is shining over the screen (note to self need to clean screen!) but … Read entire article »

Dear Bex, I can’t believe your 13…

Dear Bex, Now hang on if you are 13 then that makes me older than I would like to think I am. Of course 13 means now you are a scary teenager but you know not all teenagers need to be scary do they? But you are no ordinary 13-year-old, your my girl so that horrid teenager thing does not apply right??!! The day you arrived I couldn’t believe my luck, this perfect little baby and actually you … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday – Bex’s Birthday Week

Last week went quite well to plan, as it was half term I chopped and changed a bit. We were lucky enough to of been sent a gorgeous hamper from Capricorn Goats Cheese so the weekend got a change around whilst we made tarts and risotto with our ingredients. This week is Bex’s birthday, 13 tomorrow!!! So she has chosen her birthday meal (good choice), veggie burgers for later on in the week and Homemade pizza as it was such a success last week. I am een going to make a gluten free version so I don’t feel left out!!! So here is what we will be eating this week: Monday: Spicy turkey and pear burgers with potato wedges and salad. Tuesday: Bex’s choice, Easy chicken kebab, served in tortilla wraps (more popular the … Read entire article »

So how was Mother’s Day for you?

So how was Mother’s Day for you?

It’s funny one Mother’s Day isn’t it? As I am more of a giving rather than receiving kind of person and sadly I don’t as such have a Mum to share Mother’s Day with it leaves me on the receiving end. My wish for a great Mother’s Day would be home-made cards, and yes I was lucky enough to get two beautiful cards made by the fair hands of my children. A cup of tea made … Read entire article »

Merry Christmas x

Merry Christmas x

It’s been such a year this year, when I started here just this March I had no idea what wonderful and gorgeous people I would get to meet on the way. I feel I have made friends with people who in real every day life I would not of had the privilege to meet. I am hoping that I get to meet some of you sometime soon. With my blog, when I was thinking of the name … Read entire article »

Samsung Ultimate Talent Competition

The ‘Stage’ is Samsungs ultimate YouTube talent contest. Where the ‘Stage’ is open to showcase your or your children’s skills or talents. With the chance of winning up to $25K and a chance to star in a professional video it is worth thinking what talents your household has to offer! So what would it be? I know Bex would happily sing and dance, two things she is really talented at. Oscar being camera shy like me, would probably do an impersonation and make everyone smile. Me (!) well I still thinking on that one…… What talents or skills do you have as a family and most importantly what talents would you love to capture forever on film? You can even get the pets involved if you have say a dog or hamster that … Read entire article »

Bella Vie review

The Summer means meeting up with friends and the family as well, which I love, but just ‘the girls’ is sometimes nice too! So when Katherine asked me if I would like to try a girly drink, well it was an excuse to invite the girls around. With the name like Bella Vie meaning beautiful life the wine promised a lot. I am a bit of a labels girl and I am not talking designer or brands here. No I am a labels girl because I am a sucker for a pretty label. I choose my wine by pretty labels!!! So when Bella Vie arrived I was immediately wowed by the beautiful label, it shouts out girls night in!!! Then I turned the bottle and sharp intake of breath ‘It was Italian’!!! The … Read entire article »

Simple pleasures – Late Summer

Late Summer, well the beginning of September so I assume we can call it that! I love this time of year, but equally don’t like it as it is the beginning of another school year. Though for now, for a few more days I won’t think about that quite yet. So the simple pleasures for now has to be picking berries. From a little girl to now I have always enjoyed going out and collecting those beautiful coloured berries. Okay you might get a little bit scratched, your hands and especially nails will look a bit purple for a day or so but………. Blackberries being mine and the children’s favourite can be transformed into beautiful coloured goodies to eat. We made ‘Blackberry and Apple Muffins‘, we made ours gluten free by swapping the flour, … Read entire article »

Good times

So I have just unpacked my case from my trip to Bath, taking just Bex and leaving Oscar at home to make sure his Dad behaved. Though I might add I did take out the washing as we came back Wednesday night. I am not quite that slack but yes a little slack on unpacking the rest!!! Anyway it was great to have some one to one time with Bex. Oscar had a fab time with his Dad and I know it did both of them good too. It was lovely to catch up with family and friends. Great to catch up with my oldest (not in years) best friend. Even though she visited me with her family last week it was great to meet up just the two of us in the … Read entire article »

Off to Bath

Bex and I are off to Bath for four nights today. Although I am looking forward to it, I am equally not as I am leaving Oscar behind. Oscar being more quiet than Bex, I know he will be happier staying at home and hanging out with his Dad. Though a climb into my bed last night and a “Do you have to go?” makes me typing this feeling worse than I probably was going too. Keeping everyone happy is always a hard balancing act isn’t it. I will leave miserable looking dogs and not forgetting my lovely husband (!) had to say that. A son who will miss his cuddles, but I will have a happy daughter who can’t wait to see her Uncle, Auntie and cousins. Of course I don’t mention … Read entire article »
