Macaroni cheese with a crispy top.
Saturday evenings we often had Macaroni cheese for supper when I was growing up. My Mum usually added tomatoes and onions and sometimes bacon. I now like to add a mix of breadcrumbs cheese and herbs for a crispy topping so here is my recipe for what I think is a great filling family meal. Macaroni Cheese with a crispy top You will need to make the macaroni bake for 4-6 people: 400g Macaroni 1 onion sliced 1 garlic clove … Read entire article »

Really easy veggie bean burgers
I did used to be vegetarian and I still really enjoy veggie food, and like to have at least 3 veggie meals a week. Veggie meals served up here can be hit and miss with the rest of the gang, in particular Oscar. Despite him rarely eating meat when he was little and being the biggest salad loving child I know, veggie food has to be extra tempting to get a thumbs up. As most … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

This weeks plan is based on favourites I know will get eaten up, mostly easy to do. Except the Quiche, which once made always grateful I did make it but sometimes trying to make gluten-free pastry behave itself can be a challenge that has been known to make me cry!!! Popped to our local farm shop yesterday and got some lovely young leeks and gorgeous looking Russian (but grown here!) Kale so tonight will use some of the leeks and Kale. So my menu this week, though I may well chop and change the days around looks like this: Monday: Chicken and leek casserole … Read entire article »

If you like baking it worth a visit to the Co-op as their sugar is a lot cheaper there than both Tesco and Asda. Especially if you are Christmas baking and need brown sugar for stir up Sunday this coming Sunday I do believe. There you go my money-saving tip of the day So our week food wise looks like this and as you can see a few … Read entire article »

Yes I am typing this early on Monday, after rummaging the fridge, freezer and cupboards I did come up with my meal plan nice and early yesterday, only for my laptop to overheat and have a bit of a blip. Rather like us it needed a bit of relaxing time so I let it have an early night hence typing quickly now. I have Oscar’s parent meeting first thing, why do I always choose the early … Read entire article »
