I always hate throwing away glass jars always feel there is loads you could do with them instead of putting them out for recycling. So I love a craft that is easy and involves a jar. This came up on the creative idea’s page on Facebook.
So very simple but like lots of simple things very effective too!
We made 3 ‘Halloween Mummy Monster’ jars and for that we used:
1 gauze bandage I bought one in Superdrug for 49p which was perfect size for 3 jars
6 googly eyes
glue we use simple PVA glue which worked perfectly
3 candles (short stubby ones or tea lights)
All you do is:
Very simply put a bit of glue at the top of your jar the width of the bandage, then start wrapping it around the jar until all the jar is covered. Cut the bandage and glue to fix.
Add your googly eyes and leave to try.
Pop a candle in. If using tea lights, light before you put them in and gently lower them or use a long lighter!
You could also use them to hold sweet and treats instead of having them lit with a candle.
I love Jen from ‘Mum in the Madhouse’ simple idea with breadsticks to make edible sparklers. Take a look, I think these are really fantastic and would look great in one of these jars!
Remember your candle safety once these are lit!
