Mother’s Day with Hallmark – guest post

Guest post by Hallmark for Mother’s day which this year is on the 10th March. Here at Hallmark we know that all mums are full of great advice, and so we invited the mums in our community of fans to divulge their best pearls of motherly wisdom, just in time for Mother’s Day! As expected there was a fantastic response, and the tips that mums shared with us were funny, clever, and sometimes even touching. We … Read entire article »

Really easy biscuit recipe

Really easy biscuit recipe

These are as named really easy biscuits to make. Nice, quick, easy biscuit recipe and no rolling involved. I love the rustic look of these biscuits, the sort of biscuits you would buy and have to pay far too much for far too few biscuits!!! Perfect for adding to the lunch boxes and of course perfect with a cup of tea. You can also easily switch flavours see suggestions at the end. For this really easy biscuit … Read entire article »

Mothers day Twinings tea gift idea’s

Mothers Day tea gift Mothers day has mixed feelings for me. One it is a reminder that my Mum isn’t here so that makes me feel sad and two I do love to be treated (who doesn’t?) and most of all I like to think ‘yeah, today I will give myself the day off’. I was lucky enough to be sent a lovely Mothers Day tea gift from Twinings tea. When it arrived I felt truly treated … Read entire article »

National Trust – Bug houses

National Trust – Bug houses

National Trust school holiday activities I have kept meaning to do one of the holiday activities that the National Trust run, but never seemed to had made it to one. So when I saw they were doing bug house and bird nest box building, I knew Oscar would love this so I popped it straight on the calendar. The sun was fighting with the clouds a bit yesterday and the wind was being rather mean so the … Read entire article »

Use it up vegetable soup

Use it up vegetable soup

I quite often find my most tasty recipes come from using up ingredients and this vegetable soup is no exception. In fact sometimes I  just make it even if I don’t need to use the veg up as it is so lovely. Most of us end up with bits and bobs of vegetables in the fridge or veg rack. The great thing is usually if you got them there you like them so we are already … Read entire article »

An exciting visit to Butlins

An exciting visit to Butlins

Last week I had a rather lovely email drop into my inbox with a rather lovely invite. Firstly there was a mention of a family day, Brian Turner and us cooking with him. Now I am not one to be star struck ( I am thinking autographs, signed photo’s with us together that sort of thing!!!). But joking apart I was a huge fan of Ready Steady Cook back in the time when Brian was regularly … Read entire article »

Neigh thank you – horse free burgers and more

Oh I couldn’t resist that title but now the horse seems to have bolted of out the stable and into our burgers and ready meals, I thought I would remind you just how easy it is to whip up a burger yourself. Since being gluten-free, label reading is one of my hobbies. Though I think writing beef instead of horse meat is a bit more than a spelling mistake,  quite frankly more often than not the rest of the ingredients if read, will equally have you trotting off to make your own. So not to look a gift horse in the mouth (Okay enough horsing about I am going to be sensible now) I thought I link up to some of my easy recipes, actually one is by Oscar’s when … Read entire article »
