Blackberry & Apple Muffin Cake

Blackberry & Apple Muffin Cake

Blackberry and apple muffin cake with streusel topping This year blackberries here have been a bit of a wash out so what better way to use a couple of handfuls in, than in a cake. I quite often make muffins instead of cakes as being gluten free they are a bit more forgiving! For a change and extra treat I added a streusel topping which I have to confess sent this cake to another level!  This … Read entire article »

Kenco Millicano Caff Free – Reviewed

Kenco Millicano Caff Free – Reviewed

Kenco Millicano Caff Free When Anya asked if I would like to try some Kenco Millicano Caff free, of course I said yes. After just this year starting drinking coffee after over 13 years of not touching it at all, I was finding I was loving the taste but more than one cup did give me a headache. After the getting the taste back I was a bit miffed about it. So when my Kenco Millicano … Read entire article »

Back from camping and….

Back from camping and….

It was great, everything was relaxed and easy. The gas behaved itself, not sure why I was worried about that but most of all Oz and I had loads of fun. The tent went up with no swearing (!), the campsite was lovely. We camped in the open field so only a few tents there (perfect), the loo’s were clean and I only queued the once!!! The shower was slightly less than powerful and I … Read entire article »

Gone camping….

Gone camping….

O.k so obviously now this second I am sat at home typing this, on a reasonably comfy chair, a choice of three toilets and lovely clean shower, a kettle that boils really quickly, a dish washer and again a reasonably comfy bed to sleep on. But somehow for two nights I will give up the luxuries for a camping chair, more like a queue of three people for the loo, a shared shower well not … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

Meal Planning Monday

I am yet again not sure where that week has gone and it’s meal planning Monday again!!! Now the Summer holidays are racing nearer the end and I haven’t even brought the school uniform or any of the new things Oscar will need for secondary school. I have been in a bit of belief that the holidays will keep on going and we might have moved house but they are not going to and there … Read entire article »

Simple but sweet – Mini filled sponges with jam and buttercream

Simple but sweet – Mini filled sponges with jam and buttercream

Making the humble fairy cake into something a bit special! Why hadn’t I thought to do this before with fairy cakes? Mr Kipling makes them, then I saw Lakeland had a special cake pan to make them in but love Lakeland as I do at £19.99 I decide to pass. Instead I used my regular muffin tin with the love or hate them (and I love them) silicone cup cake cases. I made mine gluten-free I wasn’t … Read entire article »

Morphy Richards – Accents Hand Blender Set

Morphy Richards – Accents Hand Blender Set Earlier in the year I became a Morphy Richards ‘Home Innovator’ and in the post that won me the position listed were my 5 top pieces of kitchen equipment that save me money and time. Beautiful girl going to Beautiful day’s

Beautiful girl going to Beautiful day’s

My beautiful girl is off to Beautiful days tomorrow.  Even cooler for her she is leaving the ‘old folks’ behind, so Bex’s first experience of a festival will be slightly free but hoping sure that our friends will keep a close eye on her!!! This Summer I have loved reading the ‘Festival’ blog posts and think perhaps I have missed out a wee bit as I confess I have never been to a festival. Even growing … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

I didn’t even have an onion in the house, which as you can imagine is big style shopping alert!!! So we did have roast chicken though so not so bad though now we are feeling a bit icky … Read entire article »
