Oscar’s easy chocolate orange ice cream

Oscar’s easy chocolate orange ice cream

After Oscar’s success with his ‘Banana and Custard ice lollies’ here, Oz decided to work on some new flavour combinations. So we actually made chocolate orange ice lollies. These got big thumbs up from 3 of us but there was complaints from the ‘Dad’ of the house that they had too many ice crystals in!!! So with the fact the flavour we had so easily achieved was totally and an extra totally delicious I thought … Read entire article »

Managing your online energy

Life is busy, no matter how organised we are (yes I know I am not the most organised in the world) we never seem to have enough time to do everything we need to get done. But here I am and here you are as you are reading this, well we are online aren't we?!!! So the joy of the internet I admit can be a time sucker (usually when we are enjoying it most!) but also as a time-saving. I kind of like a bit of balance don't you?  So online I save time by doing my online shopping every two weeks. This saves me a 20 minute journey to the shop, then let's be honest nearly an hour in there and 20 minutes back. Online I do it in … Read entire article »

Game, Set and Scratch

Game, Set and Scratch

Yes it is Wimbledon fortnight *snore* sorry, to be honest any spectator sport really doesn’t do it for me. With the exception of the odd game of rugby but that is purely for my own personal ‘eye candy’ for some of those lovely rugby players thighs!!! Yes sometimes I am shallow I confess!!! But that is obviously severely lacking when it comes to tennis and as for the women with their grunting on the courts, well … Read entire article »

Meal planning Monday

Meal planning Monday

Last week we pretty much stuck to our plan except Saturday saw a change to a homemade Indian meal. This was due to the fact Bex changed her D.T project from Italian which didn’t really inspire her to Indian. Which quite frankly is a lot more work. So Saturday saw a rather yummy menu swap, Vegetable Jalfrezi,  Bombay potato, pilau rice, cucumber raita and homemade naan bread were all made and served. Also two melted … Read entire article »

Freedom & growing up

Freedom & growing up

It’s a funny word really isn’t it? Freedom could be to do as you like or perhaps to have space. I am sure lot of us feel that we don’t have the freedom we would like to but on the times we do I love to enjoy it. My two are growing up, they are both fab children and I know I had a good part in that (yes it’s good give yourself a pat on … Read entire article »

Meal Planning Monday

Meal Planning Monday

So yet another week has gone by the sun came a few times but we are still a little confused whether to have salads or soups. I have decided this week to get the slow cooker out one day as I used to loved using this but really only ever seem to do stew in it. As I type this, the sun is shining over the screen (note to self need to clean screen!) but … Read entire article »

Summer Salad Recipe 5

Summer Salad Recipe 5

I love the summer for lots of reasons but one of my favourite reasons is an excuse to bring out the picnic hamper. When the sun does eventually make an appearance I love eating out and especially making a picnic for supper even on a school night!!! But with our very unpredictable weather, picnic’s have to be easy too. I like to keep key picnic ingredients in the fridge or freezer just in case the sun … Read entire article »

One of the things I love about having a blog is you feel you have an extra family in a way. My family is really small and where as some people have an overflow of family we fell a bit short on that. So on Bex’s birthday when she got lots of birthday message via twitter and here it really meant more to both Bex and me than just a happy birthday. Bex really appreciated the … Read entire article »
