Washing questions that need answers

Washing questions that need answers

So we all know the sock dilemma, my attempts at trying to restore order and beat the sock monster here sometimes are working. Some day’s there are cheers and lots of socks are married back up. Other days I am just filling the bag which is currently nearly 3/4 full of odd socks. Logically this makes no sense at all, what’s more why have I only 2 pairs of Oscar non-school socks left out of … Read entire article »

Sponsored Video – Walkers Crisp guess the flavour

I used to love playing the food taste test game when I was younger and it is really surprising of what taste you actually get wrong. Mind you my friend Helen did used to mix up some rather odd and vaguely disgusting combinations. So this new competition from Walkers ‘Guess the flavour’ is one after my own heart, though being gluten-free means I can’t join the party as such!!! What ever though you can guarantee that Walkers would have made these mystery flavours rather yummy. The thing is ‘What is that flavour?’. It looks like ‘The Wanted’ want to find out too and even willing to let Gary Lineker join their band for his inside knowledge. With the offers of teaching him how to dance and sing will Gary waver with the … Read entire article »

Simple things

Simple things

I used to often write here about the simple pleasures so it is about time I did some more. I have always been a fan of the simple things, enjoying what is around you and these days more than ever it seems important. To be honest life is expensive and these things are mostly free. I also like the fact both my children despite the fast and electronic life that kids live these day’s appreciate some … Read entire article »

Something delicious from Cartmel Village Shop

Last Friday a rather delicious parcel arrived for us. It was a box containing two puddings and a jar of toffee sauce from the lovely people at Cartmel Village Shop. We have been lucky enough to be asked to be one of the Cartmel tasting panel, which as you can imagine is a tough job!!! As you know I am gluten-free so I had to leave the tasting up to the rest of my family but … Read entire article »

Making Pancake Day a little bit special

Making Pancake Day a little bit special

When I was little pancakes were only ever eaten on Shrove Tuesday. Nowadays’ certainly in our houses and looking at my twitter feed on a Saturday morning pancakes are served quite regularly. Here it is an after sleepover breakfast (apparently I make the best pancakes according to my children’s friends!) and often served on a weekend morning when a busy day lays ahead. So I went in search of a few idea’s to make ‘Pancake Day’ a … Read entire article »

Spend Vouchers, Get Rewards!

Spend Vouchers, Get Rewards!

We all know when we shop at  Tesco we get clubcard points, and we all know that we rather like getting our clubcard vouchers through the post. But have we actually looked to see what  Clubcard Deals  are about? To see how we can make our vouchers go so much further. I have to admit I usually briefly scan through the literature that is sent with the clubcard rewards and then the next time I am … Read entire article »

Spicy lentil and vegetable soup

My past Valentines mishaps

My past Valentines mishaps

As you can see from my logo I am a ‘romantic soul’ or at the very least I am rather partial to hearts. Recently my two children quizzed me about my Valentines day pasts.  After remembering all that my brain would allow me to and admitting to some slightly cringe worthy things, I felt for my further embarrassment and your entertainment I would tell you too! Being someone who wears their heart on their sleeve and honesty … Read entire article »
