Saying goodbye to 2011

Saying goodbye to 2011

I have to admit I will be a little sad to say goodbye to this year. Though like all years it has had its ups and downs. It’s sad parts, it’s tough decision’s, its happy bits, new bits, in fact lots of new bits. Well the list could go on. This year has been a growing year, and I don’t mean the plants though the hanging cherry tomatoes did have the best year for a long … Read entire article »

Merry Christmas x

Merry Christmas x

It’s been such a year this year, when I started here just this March I had no idea what wonderful and gorgeous people I would get to meet on the way. I feel I have made friends with people who in real every day life I would not of had the privilege to meet. I am hoping that I get to meet some of you sometime soon. With my blog, when I was thinking of the name … Read entire article »

Running to my usual schedule!!!

Running to my usual schedule!!!

Of course I am, this is me you are talking about. It’s the 21st, remember it is only the 21st!!! Four days to the big day, the day that we plot, plan and think about for, well a lot more we should no doubt. I often think of Christmas planning *coughs* as something we (us ladies mainly) do as part of a Winter activity. Something to focus on in the sometimes grey winter, other than all the … Read entire article »

Save money at Aldi this Christmas

Save money at Aldi this Christmas

Aldi rather kindly sent me some Christmas goodies to try, in the ‘season of good will’ I sent some to friends to try out for me. Oh I am not that good (I am really!) they have gluten in and Christmas pudding and mince pies don’t go down well here!!! As we are all going to be buying our Christmas food this week, it is really worth taking a look at Aldi because who can’t afford … Read entire article »

Provamel and Tree Aid

When this popped into my inbox, I thought yes on two accounts. One planting trees is so important. Despite my admission at the weekend I know how much trees are important to our planet. Two, eating all this meat and dairy that many of us do well, let’s just say those lovely cows and the gases they produce have a bit to answer too for the hole in our precious ozone layer. With those two things in mind I like the idea the Provamel has come up with (we also love their yummy soya drinks!) two simple things that you can do. So take a look for some very interesting facts. So what do you  think? Could you pledge that you’d swap meat and dairy once a week that is all in exchange … Read entire article »

Christmas carrot and coriander soup

Christmas carrot and coriander soup

I love trying out different flavours and at Christmas, I do love adding Christmas flavour to more every day recipes. This soup is easy to make and the extra flavour mean it does taste Christmas with a warm flavour too. This recipe as all soup recipes is easily doubled. This gives 4 good servings. For a more filling soup add an extra or two potatoes. I tend to always do this as being gluten-free my soup … Read entire article »

As it is Christmas I need to confess…

As it is Christmas I need to confess…

In the last week or two my twitter news feed has been filled with excitement of things that have made me feel slightly guilty and ashamed. Do I tell them or do I just pretend otherwise. Can I really admit that I fake it, oh there it is, it’s out. I do ummmm ummmm have a *hangs head in shame* then *puts on dark glasses* an artificial Christmas tree. Oh I am sorry but let me … Read entire article »

Icing on the cake with help from Silver Spoon Create

Icing on the cake with help from Silver Spoon Create

As you may have seen I have made my Christmas cake. Which is indeed a lovely and gorgeous smelling job to do but of course the best bit is as the good saying says is ‘The icing on the cake!’. Now usually my cake is quite plain. The usual marzipan and Royal icing and a token Christmas tree and Robin but this year the lovely people at Silver spoon sent me some of their lovely and … Read entire article »

Christmas and food intolerances

Christmas and food intolerances

As you may know I can’t eat gluten and lactose I have to be a bit careful with too. Remembering my first Christmas when I had to avoid these things I can honestly say at times I cried. Silly I know but I was missing all the yummy stuff and I felt left out. That was now 5 years ago. The market for gluten-free products has changed for the best in the last few years.  I … Read entire article »
